This important new report by A. Mark Fendrick, professor of internal medicine and health management and policy at the University of Michigan, offers an excellent overview of what VBID is and how it is being envisioned, implemented, and evaluated. Funded by the National Pharmaceutical Council, the report recognizes and details the potential barriers to VBID implementation, and looks ahead to how VBID will integrate with reforms to the U.S. health care system.
